A smile can be the most eye-catching feature of your face. Even a subtle change can make a big difference in the way you look and feel. Our panel dentists can make yellow or gray teeth whiter with professional bleaching and also can replace, as it may necessitate, the darker silver fillings! Get your chipped, broken or missing teeth repaired with tooth-colored restorations!

Many individuals who have discolored enamel are not satisfied with the appearance of their teeth and go to great lengths to achieve the perfect smile. The answer lies in Tooth bleaching.

Are your teeth stained, discolored, or just showing their age?

Youthful Bright Teeth is a memory you can have again! It depends what all you want according to your cost considerations. How white is too white? Dentists typically use a 16-shade guide that sets the standard for whiteness, wherein most professional treatments can bring teeth up to the top 2 percent. However, as a general rule, teeth should never be whiter than the whites of your eyes.

To get your smile back to looking its best, you should choose a whitening method that:

Achieves the longest-lasting results

Gives you the most naturally brilliant and uniform look

Is clinically proven to be safe and effective

Uses a low concentration of active ingredient (hydrogen peroxide)

Bleaching:

Drinking too much tea or coffee, smoking or even eating strongly coloured foods can stain and discolour them. There are toothpastes available that will help remove these stains, but they can't change the actual colour of the tooth underneath. Everyday life will take its toll on our teeth, anyway.

Your DNA, just like the colour of your hair or your eyes, determines the colour of your teeth. As we get older, the dentine - the soft, pulpy substance below the enamel that protects the nerves and the blood supply to the tooth - changes colour, becoming more yellow. This is something that stain-removing toothpaste alone cannot help. Milder form of it can be corrected without doubt or much effort.

It is important, though, to do it under the dentist's supervision. OTC purchases are attractive but are not without inherent failures and sometimes damaging to the purpose. Don't be tempted to buy kits over the counter unless the reputation of product has proven locus standi. Not only are they not made to fit everybody's mouth exactly; it may be that bleaching isn't suitable for prospective user especially with gum disease or crowns.

How would my dentist whiten my teeth?

The most common way a dentist will whiten or bleach your teeth is using a special sleeve and some gel. First of all, the dentist will give your mouth a thorough check-up to make sure there are no other problems and that your gums are nice and healthy. Then he or she will take an impression of your teeth, upper and lower, using a special tray with dental putty. Using that impression, a plastic sleeve will be made which can fit snugly and exactly around your teeth.

The dentist will then show you how to put a small amount of the bleaching gel into the sleeve and then how to slide it over your teeth. Then you take the sleeve and the gel home and use it overnight, maybe every other or every third night, until your teeth are the desired colour. You may find that your teeth are more sensitive for about 24 hours after each application, but this is only temporary.

How white can your teeth become?

How white your teeth can become from bleaching and whitening is a common question with a very subjective answer. Some whitening procedures claim they can whiten your teeth by up to nine shades, but that is highly unlikely. Just a change of two or three shades will make a significant difference in just about anyone's smile. There is no one standard system in the dental field to measure and determine tooth color. The most often heard about, however, is the Vita shade guide. This guide divides tooth color into four basic shade ranges:

At-Home Tooth Whitening

Tooth whitening, also referred to as tooth bleaching, is an aesthetic dentistry technique designed to remove stains and discoloration, as well as lighten pigmentation within the teeth. While many dental offices now offer services such as in-office teeth whitening, at-home tooth whitening gel is another product that can be used to this end. Tooth bleaching kits take approximately two to six weeks to accomplish the desired level of whiteness and must be used under the supervision of a cosmetic dentist.

Using Tooth Whitening Gel

The cosmetic dentist begins the tooth whitening process by checking the teeth for cavities. The tooth whitening gel could damage teeth with cavities in them. If cavities are found, they will be repaired before tooth whitening begins. If no cavities are found, the teeth will be cleaned to remove plaque and a mouth tray will be custom fitted. The dentist will then provide a peroxide-based tooth whitening gel. The mouth tray should be filled with the tooth whitening gel and worn overnight for two to three weeks.

Important Note: Do NOT smoke, drink or eat while bleaching your teeth. It is NOT recommended to bleach your teeth if you're pregnant or nursing

Advantages & Disadvantages of Teeth Whitening

Pros and Cons of Teeth Whitening Advantages:

People typically have their teeth whitened to improve their appearance. Whiter teeth are associated with beauty and a healthier lifestyle. When people have a brighter smile, they tend to smile more often and are less self-conscious.

In addition, a whiter smile tends to minimize the appearance of facial wrinkles, giving way to a more youthful and energetic appearance.

Finally, a whiter smile gives people to whom you are speaking a place to focus on and gives you a friendlier appearance.

Disadvantages:

Although bleaching is very effective, there can be short-term disadvantages, such as sore gums or teeth from the bleach. This disappears when bleach use is discontinued. Some individuals are more chemically sensitive. If you are one of them, inform your cosmetic dentist so that you can be tested for sensitivity to the solution
